Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Kampala Head To Jinja
You will be received by a representative from Africa Nature Trekkers and one of our drivers / safari guides at Entebbe International Airport who will brief you about your safari and later transfer you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in either Sheraton Hotel or Grand Imperial Hotel. After breakfast, head to Eastern Uganda. On the way visit Mabira Forest which is among the largest and very stunning tropical forests in the country. Taking a short forest walk will enable you to well stretch-out your legs and also see the various primate species, butterflies and birds. On reaching Jinja we will certainly visit the true source of the Nile to see the point where the famed river Nile which is longest river in the world begins its lengthy journey on Africa. Day 2: Rafting on The Nile
Today we start on a new chapter of adventure as we go White Water Rafting at the renowned source of the Nile. Marvel the gorgeous scenery and rumbling rapids on the White Nile. Keep watch of the prolific bird life as you float gently between the Nile’s rapids.
The day’s climax of this day’s adventurers is a dip in the great river Nile by taking a bungee jump. Jump from one of the world’s most spectacular spots and touch the Nile while upside down but this is an optional activity. Dine and sleep at Adrift Nile High Camp.
Day 3: Quad Bike Safari
On having breakfast we set out on a Four-hour quad-bike safari. Trail the tiny tracks past the bushes that will take you to the unveiled beautiful view spots that overlook the Nile’s rapids. On this safari you will have the opportunity to explore Uganda’s countryside from yet a different angle, taking you past small villages and cultivated farmlands to see people caring out their day-to-day activities.
Following lunch there will be several alternatives of spending the afternoon. Relax by the remarkable Bujagali Falls, or ride along the Nile’s shores on horseback, or go kayaking, or take pleasure in a village walk or explore the neighborhood on bicycle by renting a mountain bike. Day 4: Jinja Town – Sipi Falls
Today set off from the hard to forget ‘Source of the Nile’ and proceed east. Driving past Iganga go towards Tororo which is located at Kenya’s border with Uganda. Here you will see the Tororo Rock which is a famous rock that projects 300 meters over the neighboring plains. On request you can enjoy Rock climbing.
We continue to Mbale which is an attractive town on the foothill of Mount Elgon. This region holds a rich heritage and charming culture. We will enjoy lunch in Mbale town. Driving on past stunning viewpoints we will arrive in Sipi Village, located between the mountains and the beautiful waterfalls. Dine and slumber at Sipi Falls Resort.
Day 5: Sipi Falls Trek
Today we will take a pleasurable hike to the beautiful Sipi Falls. The walk is very peaceful to the base of the well-known waterfall; this then continues with a steep hike to a series of rock caves. As you continue with the demanding trail to the following levels of the waterfalls, you will walk past banana plantations, African homesteads and maize fields. We will cool off with a natural water spray-shower by the falls and marvel at the magnificent views of the valleys below. At the finish of the day we will certainly be rewarded with the beautiful view of the sunset. Unwind as you absorb the ultimate sun rays over the plains of the verdant eastern Uganda! If you are interested in experiencing a genuine thrill and observe the waterfalls at very close proximity, then opt to abseil down this lovely mountain, the length of the famed Sipi Falls but this is optional. Day 6: Mount Elgon National Park
Following breakfast we will drive to Mt Elgon Forest Exploration Centre. Mt Elgon stands as an extinct volcano, located on Kenya’s border with Uganda. At 4321 meters high it is the 4th highest mountain in the whole of East Africa and the 2nd highest in Uganda.
A one-day hike will enable you to explore the diverse mountain forest. There are various trails to select from, past the spectacular waterfalls, the mystifying caves and the stunning viewpoints. The area is a paradise for all bird lovers, and supports about 300 various bird species. At the finish of the day, return to dine and overnight at the luxurious Sipi Falls Resort
Day 7: Sipi – Transfer to Kampala
Rest for part of the morning before departing the Karamojong plains and return to Kampala city. Arrive in the capital in the later afternoon to be transferred to where you will want. This will be the end of our Uganda Holiday; we look forward to seeing you again.
