This 7 days gorilla wildlife safari adventure takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a home to the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in the mist, Queen Elizabeth National Park to experience rare wildlife species including the tree climbing lions, and visit to Kibale forest a home to 13 primates like the Chimpanzees, white and black Columbus and vervet monkeys.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe / Kampala & Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be received by a representative from Africa Nature Trekkers and one of our drivers / guides, drive you to your booked accommodation. After your breakfast, the journey to Bwindi-south western Uganda starts via Masaka-Mbarara highway. Have a stopover for lunch in Mbarara town and thereafter proceed through the fascinating Kigezi land forms and arrive in Kisoro late the evening. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge / Mahogany Springs / Gorilla Resort
Day 2: Gorilla Trek
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00AM through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these great apes. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome. When the gorillas are encountered, any fatigue is quickly forgotten. Trackers are strictly regulated 60-minute, and you depart leaving the gorillas to their fragile existence. You will return to your lodge for a rest. If the trek was relatively short than you expected, you will have the opportunity for a forest walk returning late evening to lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 3: Bwindi National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector which is in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions that can be spotted on the large fig trees and other wild life such as Topis, Buffaloes and warthogs. Overnight at Mweya Lodge / Katara Lodge / Enganzi Lodge / Bush Lodge
Day 4: Game Drive & Launch Cruise
After early breakfast, go for morning game drive. This game drive will take you through the Kasenyi sector and the queens’ mile in the park and take photographs of the Lions, Elephants, Hyenas, Giant Forest Hogs, Bush Bucks, Warthogs, Hyenas, Civets, Aardvarks, Leopards, and many more. This may last 3-4 hours.
Then it is time to check-in, have lunch and some rest and relaxation at your safari lodge. Go for an afternoon launch cruise on the 32km long Kazinga Channel, a natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George where you will have closer sight of hippos and amazing bird life. Return to camp for dinner and overnight
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, go for Kyambura gorge chimp trekking, after transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale forest is the largest protected block of rain forest. Which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Gray Cheeked Manageably, Red Columbus monkey, and Red tailed monkey. Overnight at Ndali Lodge / Kibale Safari Lodge / Kibale Primate Cottages / Kibale Forest Camp
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trek & Bigodi Nature Walk
Today you will set out for a very early morning chimpanzee trek on a guided forest walk in Kibale Forest. The trek gets going at 6.00 am immediately after breakfast. This part of the country has the highest number of primates. Watch out for the wonder that is the chimp families and the red Colobus monkeys swinging through the dense forest with birds, several butterflies and reptiles as well as small insects are a common sighting in this park.
You will have a lunch break. Go for a leisurely nature walk to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site where you will encounter of rare and beautiful flora and fauna including the rare shoe bill and other primates. Overnight at your lodge
Day 7: Kibale Forest – Kampala / Entebbe Intn’l Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Toro cultural sites to experience the historical legendary tale of the Bachwezi, visit the sightseeing like the water falls, crater Lakes, hill hiking and the panoramic view of the amazing cones of mountain Rwenzori. Havel lunch and then drive back to Kampala for your scheduled departure flight.
