The Murchison Falls is formed by River Nile waters which pass through a narrow gorge and falls into a mighty thunder roar of white waters. This park is the oldest conservation area in Uganda and a home to wild animals such as the elephant, lion, buffalo, chimpanzee, a large number of antelopes and birds. The main activity in this park is game viewing, chimpanzee tracking, bird watching and boat riding.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe / Kampala & Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
You will be received by a representative from Africa Nature Trekkers and one of our drivers / guides, drive you to your booked accommodation. Begin with a panoramic drive northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle to Masindi Town. A stop over is made at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking and lunch, continues via Budongo forest and to the spectacular fall where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty, and marvel as it compresses and squeezes itself from approximately 1km wide down through a 7m canyon. The 150m drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray, See, feel and photograph the beauty of the spot as you relax around. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Nile Safari Camp or Sambiya River Lodge / Red Chili Hostels and Campsite
Day 2: Game Viewing – Murchison Falls National Park
After a morning cup of African tea, embark on a morning game drive on the northern bank where our safari guide will help you spot elephants, lions, buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffes, Harte beasts, waterbucks, Oribi, bushbucks, bohor reed bucks, hyenas, and on rare cases leopards across an open savannah dotted woodland and riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert delta Return to the lodge for breakfast as you refresh yourself at the pool side. After lunch, a three hour boat trip along the Nile gives you a guarantee to see the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and aquatic bird species including Goliath Herons, Egyptian Geese, Pelican Bee-Eaters, Kingfishers, Horn Bills, Cormorants and the Rare Shoebill Stork can be seen along the shores of the River. Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Kampala/ Entebbe Intn’l Airport
Morning and a relaxes breakfast and then we pack our luggage ready for the return journey to Kampala with a stop at the top of the falls from where the earth literally shakes from the power and strength of the falls, At this point you will be in position to spot a rainbow generated by the mists of the fall. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is most rewarding. Enjoy your Lunch while at the Rhino sanctuary then proceed for Kampala continue to Entebbe airport in time for your scheduled departure flight.
