10 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour

This 10 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari takes you to Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Kyambura gorge and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Activities include Game Drives, Boat Cruises, Bigodi Nature Walk, Chimpanzee Trekking, Chimp Walk and Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe / Kampala & Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

You will be received by a representative from Africa Nature Trekkers and one of our drivers / guides, drive you to your booked accommodation. After breakfast, meet our guide and after drive to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive will last about 5 hours to get to Fort Portal town just in time for lunch. You will continue to Kibale arriving late evening for leisure and overnight at Ndali Lodge / Kibale Primate Cottages

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trek & Bigodi Trail

Today, very early in the morning after breakfast, you will set out for a guided chimpanzee trek into Kibale Forest. The trek usually starts at 6.00 am. Watch out for the wonder i.e. the chimp families and the red Colobus monkeys swinging through the dense forest blended with bird twits, several butterflies and reptiles as well as small insects are a common sighting in this park. This implies that a walk through this tropical rainforest does not only reward you with primates but also with other animal species and also plenty of fauna. There is also enjoyable and excellent bird viewing. Much as tracking the primates may be challenging, watching them is terrific. You will have a lunch break. After lunch, set out for a leisurely nature walk to Bigodi Wetland area where you will encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna. Overnight at your lodge

Day 3: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast in the morning and set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a brief stop at the equator line for photos. Take a game drive on entering the park; expect to see Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs and bird species. Over night at Mweya Safari Lodge / Katara Lodge / Enganzi Lodge

Day 4: Game Viewing & Launch Cruise

Again after your morning breakfast, Embark on an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and Queens mile in the park and expect to see Lions, Elephants, Cape Buffalo, Warthogs, Leopards, Hyenas, Mangoose, Waterbucks, Uganda kobs, Topi and lots of twitting birds. After lunch, enjoy the evening 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel that connects lakes Edward and George. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is stupendous with well over 550 resident varieties. Over night at Mweya Safari Lodge / Jacana Safari Lodge

Day 5: Kyambura Gorge Primate Walk – Maramagambo Forest

Kyambura gorge, part of Queen Elizabeth Park is another truly stunning section to track chimps. With previous day’s memories, you have your morning cup of coffee before setting out for guided primate walk along Kyambura Gorge to look for habituated chimps. While on this walk expect to spot other primates including the White and Black Columbus, Red-Tailed Monkey and a multitude of unique birds and variety of plants. Lunch and relax at the camp; Afternoon, you will go for an exciting nature walk in Maramagambo Forest where you can also visit the bats cave and the “blue lake”. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Early morning after breakfast you will set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. With a game drive in the Ishasha sector which is in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions that can be spotted on the large fig trees and other wild life such as Topis, Buffaloes and warthogs. Overnight at Engagi Tented Camp /Mahogany Springs / Gorilla Resort / Buhoma Camp

Day 7: Gorilla Trek in Bwindi

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00AM through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will be allowed maximum of ONE hour with the gorilla. The activity is tiresome; it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however the thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. After the experience, return to park offices to be awarded with the gorilla trekking certificate.

In the evening, you may go for community walk to neighbouring Batwa community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture. Overnight at Gorilla Forst Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas / Wagtail Eco Camp

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Lake Mburo National Park

Early morning you will have breakfast and go for a village walk around the gorilla park visiting the local home stead of Bakiga, local breweries, local schools, traditional healer, local crafts art shops, Batwa cultural performances. Lunch and thereafter transfer to Lake Mburo via the terrain land forms as you view the beautiful landscape. Make a stopover at the Equator for photography. Proceed via Masaka-Lyantonde arriving late evening at the park Nshara gate. Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp / Rwonyo Camp Site

Day 9: Game Drive and Boat Ride

Game viewing is one of the major activities in this Park. After breakfast go for a game drive in search for early risers including Zebra, Impala, Buffalo, Topi, Eland, Roan antelope and leopards, Hyenas and jackals as predictors. After lunch go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo and get a chance to see the Crocodiles, hippos and birds like the Pelicans, Black Crake, Heron, Cormorant, Fish Eagle but you may also see the rare shoebill stork. Overnight at your lodge

Day 10: Lake Mburo – Kampala / Entebbe Intn’l Airport

In the morning after your breakfast, you will set off your journey back to Kampala with stopovers for photography at the Equator Line Mark and lunch reaching late in the afternoon, and you will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight or to the airport for your departure flight.
